I love going out for a meal. Sure, there’s a lot to like about making something on your own at home, but the elegance and convenience of hitting up a fine dining establishment are just more fulfilling at times. I suppose it all depends on what mood you’re in. Personally, rare are the times when I’d opt out of an invite to a restaurant. The whole process is exciting when you really think about it. You get a little more dressed up than usual, and you file into your car, methodically pondering the entirety of their menu, mentally scrolling through all of their culinary options on your way there. It’s amazing. Brighten Your Day With Some THC-Infused Garlic Bread
Even after you park, the walk up to the front door fills the soul (and stomach) with eager giddiness. Your subconscious knows it’s about to get down on some professionally prepared grub, and it can hardly contain itself. Then, those front doors swing open, either by you or by a leaving patron, but regardless of who is responsible for opening it, the fact remains that the smell profile that gusts at your nostrils from within the depths of the restaurant does wonders for your already-anticipated appetite. The sensory overload experienced at this point, even upon entering the location, is sincerely exhilarating. Another fun aspect of dining out is the leisurely walk over to your table, led by the host or hostess. As you serpentine your way through the crowded establishment, your curious eyes can’t help but gaze upon everyone else’s plate, as you walk by. I mean, it’s hard not to visually inspect everyone’s culinary choices before taking a seat. Sometimes, the mere sight of a previously forgotten dish could replace a meal that you’ve been planning on getting for weeks. It’s a tremendously spontaneous part of the restaurant-going process. And I absolutely love it!Once you’ve been seated, and the waters have been poured, everyone begins to converse about this or that. But all talk comes to a screeching halt the second the waiter brings over that sought after basket of complementary bread. Some people see this gesture as a cynical ploy to fill the patron up on cheap dough before getting to the entree. I don’t share that sort of negative outlook. I find this basket of bread to be a welcome beacon, a sign of deliciousness that’s soon to come. Some places do their basket better than others, but when you come across one type of bread, in particular, you can’t help but comment on how good it is. That bread, ladies and gentlemen, is the world-famous Garlic Bread. If you’re like me, you probably consider garlic bread to be a “Top 5” interpretation of this pre-dinner classic. And you wouldn’t be wrong. It seems like the current recipe for garlic bread is perfect, except it’s missing one key ingredient: cannabis. That’s right, I’m about to share with you a recipe for THC Garlic Bread that’s going to blow your old bread out of the water! The way that we’re going to deliver THC into this delicious bread will be through the use of cannabis-infused butter. You could easily pick up a tub of this stuff at your local dispensary, but I always find more joy in whipping up a batch of my very own at home.In order to do this, you’ll need to get 7-10 grams of cannabis flower and roughly break it apart atop some parchment paper that was previously placed over a cookie sheet. Place that bud-covered parchment paper cookie sheet into the oven at 245°F. Anything higher, and you’ll ruin your bud, and we don’t want that to happen, now do we?After about 35-40 minutes, remove the cookie sheet, and proceed to grind down the newly decarboxylated budlets. Once that’s complete, fire up a saucepan on medium heat. Again, anything higher would effectively burn out all the potency from your bud before you even got a chance to enjoy it. Before you dump in your bud, you’ll want to throw in a cup of water, along with two sticks of non-medicated butter. When the butter has melted completely, you can toss in your activated cannabis. Stir the contents around a bit, as you let these ingredients simmer together for three hours. When that time has elapsed, secure a cheesecloth over a container that you plan to use for storage. Through the cheesecloth, dump the contents of the saucepan into the container. Once all the chunky floral elements have been expertly separated, take that container full of butter, and place it in the fridge to toughen up to your desired butter consistency. And that’s it!Whether you got your butter from the store or made it from scratch, once you’ve got that ingredient out of the way, you can focus on collecting the rest of the necessary elements before proceeding onward with this super simple recipe.
- Kick things off by preheating your oven to a standard 350°F. As that warms up, grab a small bowl for mixing. In that small bowl, you’ll want to toss in your cannabis-infused butter, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, and garlic.
- When you feel like you’ve mixed those up adequately enough, cut that Italian bread of yours in half. And, though it should go without saying, be sure to cut it horizontally.
- Then, with your most trusted spreading utensil, spread that newly mixed butter mixture from the small bowl onto the innards of both halves of bread. Be sure to cover every inch with an equal amount. You’ll want each bite to pack a similar, reliable punch.
- Then you can place both halves, face-up, onto a baking sheet. At this point, your oven should be properly heated, so feel free to toss these bad boys in there for 10 minutes or so. Then, when that time period is over, carefully pull them out of the oven, and place them on the counter.
- Before you start chopping them up into serving size pieces, sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on top for good measure, and place it back into the oven for an additional couple of minutes – just to let the newly added cheese melt a bit.
