Ingredients

  • 250 mg Cannabis-Infused Butter (or Oil)
  • 1/2 Cup of Maple Syrup
  • 2/3 Cup of Cashews
  • 1/2 Cup of Sun Flower Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup of Almond Butter
  • 1/2 Cup of Dates (Pitted)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
I don’t know about you, but maintaining my energy throughout the course of a long day can become a bit of an arduous chore. Yes, I have had my fair share of energy drinks, but those things are chock full of unpronounceable chemicals, and often taste like flavored battery acid. Plus, they can almost be too good at their job. One time, I had too many, and the back of my knees started to sweat – and I was just sitting down. Needless to say, that era of sugary drinks to help fight off my snoozy-moods are long gone.

Sure, perhaps my diligent stoner ways may be to blame for a fraction of my sluggishness. I can admit that. But even during my most sober moments, I find myself not only fighting off a case of the Zzz’s, but I’m yearning for the clock to hurry up and allow me to rush home, in order for me to finally enjoy a little bit of cannabis after a long day. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that.
Other than racing to the coffee shop or grocery store for energy-inducing products during my lunch break, is there anything that can provide me with the focus and motivation I need to get through the remainder of the day? Also, if there is anyway it can mellow me out with a great, sustaining high, that would be even better.
Cue: THC Vegan Energy Nugs.
No, these nugs aren’t made for smoking, they are made for eating. The uplifting energy and euphoric sense of optimism they provide are next-level incredible. Plus, they are completely vegan, which makes it enjoyable for even the most strict of diets. On top of that, these bad boys are actually healthy. Which is a lot more than you can say for any sort of energy drink that otherwise sizzles your insides on every regretful sip.
These little protein-packed morsels, enriched with all sorts of delicious natural ingredients (and cannabis), are guaranteed to give you “what you need” in order to finish out the day on a strong (and stoned) note. I promise.
However, before I even begin to list off the respectable amount of ingredients you will need in order to fire up a batch of your own at home, I feel compelled (again) to mention that cannabis-infused butter (or oil) is critical for this recipe. While you can very easily pick some up at your local dispensary, I find that making a batch of this on your own is equal parts satisfying and super-potent.
I have already written an extensive, detailed recipe on how to create just such an ingredient on your own in a different piece. I can’t help but recommend you give that previous recipe a “look see” before tackling this energy-creating culinary project. But, if you simply don’t have time to click a couple of links, allow me to summarize the process as quickly as I possibly can.
First, you will need a decent amount of ground cannabis. I would say anywhere in the realm of ¼ to ½ ounce. But, please, feel free to use more (or less). It all depends on what kind of tolerance you have, as well as how potent you want your final product to be. Then, place that bud on a baking sheet and toss it in a preheated oven at 240°. This kicks off the decarboxylation process, which effectively activates the psychoactive component of marijuana, more affectionately known as, THC. Without this step, your buds won’t be able to get anyone elevated, and it will likely just ruin whatever dish you add it to.
Then, you will want to add this newly activated cannabis into some regular butter (or oil). After the elements have mixed and mingled perfectly, using a cheesecloth, you’ll want to transfer this potent product into a different container, and allow it to chill before using it. And voila, that is it! Once you have all that taken care of, you can feel free to proceed onward with this amazing recipe.
Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s make sure you have all the ingredients necessary to complete these fantastic THC Vegan Energy Nugs.

Instructions

  • Already sounds healthy, doesn’t it? Alright, after you have successfully wrangled in all of those ingredients, it is time to roll up those sleeves of yours and get to work on these THC Vegan Energy Nugs.
  • First, find your food processor and plug that in immediately. This quaint kitchen appliance will be doing most of the heavy lifting in this recipe. Then, once that is all ready to go, toss in a small amount of those cashews, and hit the ‘Pulse’ mode until the contents are finely ground. You will want these cashews for later, so feel free to remove them from the processor and place them to the side for the time being.
  • Then, in a newly empty food processor, toss in your sunflower seeds, along with the remaining cashews. With these two, you will want to hit the ‘Pulse’ mode again, but only until they are both coarse – not fine, like a powder.
  • At this point, you’ll want to grab your dates and throw them in the mixture, and hit ‘Pulse’ again until everything seems to be expertly combined with one another. You can repeat this process with the salt, vanilla extract, syrup, and almond butter, as well. Just make sure that, by the end of it, the entire blend has a really smooth consistency.
  • After you feel it has reached peak smoothness, you can add your cannabis-infused butter (or oil) into the mix, and blend it all together. When you feel like the infused butter (or oil) couldn’t be more intertwined with the previously blended mixture, you can start forming these little “nugs” into whatever size you would like. Personally, I always aim for a golf-ball size, that way they can easily be enjoyed without any overwhelming potency that may otherwise leave you too stoned to be energized. It is really all about finding a happy medium at this point in the recipe.
  • When you have rolled out your nugs, you have the option to throw a little topping on them, should you so choose. A couple topping suggestions that work well with this mix are dark chocolate chips, coconut, or even dried fruit – it’s really up to you. Personally, I would suggest using the previously pulsed cashews as show-stopping topper.
  • Whether your nugs are topped with extra add-ons, or left completely bare, this is the time where you would place the final product in the freezer to firm up. Once they do, you can gently pull them out of their frozen corridor, and dig in.
