The average Northern California stoner is straight-up spoiled when it comes to places to pick up top-shelf cannabis. However, just because these businesses sell the same commodity, that doesn’t mean they share the same quality (or price levels). Quite the contrary, actually. And if you ever find yourself lucky enough to be in (or near) San Francisco, you need to know which places to hit up in order to get the dankest goods – without paying an arm and a leg.

10. Flower to the People

While the city is chock full of amazing cannabis clubs that constantly stock the best weed in San Francisco, Flower to the People just south of Mission Street isn’t one of the more “premiere” locations. The only thing blocking the interior from curious passersby are some stained, drab white sheets. Upon entering, it becomes apparent that this is a lower-level establishment. The staffers are constantly high and in their own world, and the tiny amount of real estate they call a “showroom” is pitiful by industry standards. The only thing landing them on this list is their line of top-shelf products sold at affordable prices. But every other bit of the experience and ambiance at this cannabis club could use a massive improvement.

Location, location, location. That seems to be the only glaring problem with this quaint inner-city dispensary. Stuffed within the tight confines of the Financial District of San Francisco, this cannabis club only has a small sandwich board advertising its whereabouts. When one enters the tiny hallway, they only see a yoga studio and security person at a podium. They instruct the visitor to wait until some customers leave the 3rd floor dispensary – because the interior is so small, they can only have a few enthusiasts up at a time. And if one can endure the anxiety-inducing ride in an elevator no bigger than a dormitory shower stall – they’ll be rewarded with a cacophony of cannabis goods. The average price point at this establishment is admirable, as is their quality of products – but the elevator-induced panic that one may have to overcome in order to pick up some buds may not seem “worth it” to the more nervous cannabis enthusiast.

This cool cannabis club gives new meaning to the cornerstone dispensary. This location is in a small neighborhood, and constantly offers up some of the best cannabis in San Francisco. The moment one steps foot inside this quaint establishment, the hardwood walls and dark woodland decor make it feel more like a “bait and tackle” shop – which is to say it’s incredibly cozy and welcoming. The staffers are amongst the most knowledgeable and helpful in the biz. And their extensive menu is sure to have something for even the pickiest stoner to enjoy.

A mere stone’s throw away from the classic New Mission Theater, you’ll find this tucked-away dispensary on the always-busy Mission Street in San Francisco. The entrance is undeniably recognizable with its multiple wooden barrels lining the storefront. If you’re looking to score some flowers – this is the place. They have a wealth of options to choose from, but not just in that category of floral cannabis – they’ve got plenty of other THC-infused goodies to choose from. Which is probably why this is one of the most beloved dispensaries in the city.

This is another one of those slightly hard-to-find locations. But, if one makes sure to keep their eyes peeled for a faint green building – they won’t miss it. Sure, parking is a bit of struggle with this dispensary, but circling the block is more than worth it with this place. Though the storefront itself isn’t the largest in the area, the plethora of cannabis products that they make readily available to their loyal customers is nothing short of stupendous. They don’t price gouge, either. And anything that can save the budget-friendly bud-lover a few bucks is always a “plus” in my book.

This dispensary may be the hardest to locate on the list. This incredible dispensary is hidden in an alleyway, just seconds from the Westfield Mall on Mission Street. Once one knows which quick turns to take, they’ll soon find themselves meandering down a narrow alley. But they won’t have to traverse that path for too long before stumbling across a bright red umbrella and kiosk – this is their entryway. The cool, modern aesthetic of this establishment is top-notch. And the same could be said for its massive menu of dank goodies.
4. Green Door

This is probably one of the most iconic dispensaries in the city – and it offers up some of the best marijuana in San Francisco. Having been around since the inception of the medical marijuana movement, this cannabis club has enjoyed nothing but an onslaught of repeat business – and that loyal customer base continues to grow more and more with each passing year. After a brief check-in with their staffers in their elegant, super clean front room – the customer is then instructed to make a quick turn around a wall. Doing so, reveals their unique storefront – which is, essentially, built like a bank or betting window at a race track. Massive menus showcase their wide array of products, allowing the customer to prepare their order before being called over by one of their friendly budtenders. Their products are routinely potent and super affordable, which (in my opinion) is a telltale sign of an immensely successful dispensary.

This uber-cool cannabis club is all about “vibes.” Everything about this establishment’s design, both inside and out, delivers a super unique aesthetic that helps it stand out amongst the sea of boring dispensaries in the area. It’s also one of the few locations that offers a massive dab lounge for their customers to enjoy. Sure, their prices aren’t always the “lowest” per se – but their top-shelf items are demanding of a higher-than-average price. Their staff is incredible and their products are phenomenal – what more could you ask for?

With three different locations in the city, alone, I had to pick only one of their establishments to be on this list – just to be fair. Each of these stellar dispensaries shares the same high-level of design and efficiency – so you really can’t go wrong. The clean, ultra-sheek demeanor of this cannabis club is the epitome of professional. But don’t let its fancy look fool you – this is not a stuck-up dispensary. Their staffers are more than happy to help out any curious customer looking to learn more about their massive menu of top-shelf cannabis.

Elegant, regal, and supremely defined. All of those highfalutin adjectives come to mind the second my stoner feet step through the charming entrance of this top-notch cannabis club. This place is the definition of “chill.” Wood and brick serve as the main foundation for the interior design of this dispensary that treats all of their customers like clients at a bar. All one needs to do is sidle up to one of their many bar stools, peruse through their menu at their own leisure, and place an order whenever they are ready to do so with one of their many budtenders. This is, hands-down, the best cannabis club – not only in San Francisco – but in the Bay Area, in general. They always have amazing products at jaw-droppingly low prices, and it’ll only take one visit for anyone to consider themselves a lifelong customer.
